Impeller Attachment
Select an impeller and shaft for the required operation and install as follows:
1. Place impeller on shaft and tighten set screw.
2. Open the chuck. Insert the impeller shaft into the open chuck and adjust the impeller to the
desired height. The hollow through-shaft allows the impeller shaft to come through the top
of the mixer motor if necessary. Insert the mixer shaft into the chuck so it extends into the
through-shaft by at least 3 inches to ensure a secure hold on the shaft. Keep mixer shaft as
short as possible to reduce resonant vibrations caused by shaft flexing at higher speeds.
3. Tighten the chuck. A clicking sound will be heard as the chuck approaches being fully tightened.
Chuck Removal and Attachment
1.
Slide chuck onto motor shaft, aligning the set screw with the through hole on the shaft.
2. Tighten the set screw using the provided hex key.
MIXER CONTROLLER OPERATION
Powering On
Make sure that the motor cable is plugged and locked into the controller and the controller is
connected to the mains supply with provided power cable. Place the rear-panel POWER switch
to the ON position. If the controller is connected to mains, the LED will illuminate green indicating
power. This is regardless of the position of FWD-OFF-REV switch.
FWD-OFF-REV Switch
In the FWD position, the shaft will rotate in a clockwise direction when viewed from the motor down
the mixing shaft.
In the center or OFF position the shaft rotation is stopped but power is still connected to the
controller and motor.
In the REV position, the shaft will rotate in a counter-clockwise direction when viewed from the
motor down the mixing shaft.
If the following conditions apply:
•
The FWD-OFF-REV switch is in FWD or REV positions
•
The SPEED Control knob is not at the “0” position
•
The controller remains plugged into AC power
The mixer will resume mixing after a power failure, or when the power has been removed by control
equipment (i.e., PLC), or when the AC power has been cut (i.e., the mixer unplugged). When power
is restored, the LED will flash 5 times and then the mixer will automatically ramp up to the last
speed. This function cannot be enabled or disabled by the end user; it is always enabled.
