Alignment is necessary to compensate for the slight variations in the mechanical construction of respective lamps due to the
fact that may discharge lamps are still partly constructed manually.
The procedure should be undertaken to properly align the lamp in the optical system, thus avoiding the possible overhea-
ting of internal components due to incorrect focusing of the beam onto components which are not designed to be expo-
sed to this.
Alignment procedure
Manipulating the two adjusters
A
and
B
contemporaneously effects alignment; with the lamp on and blackout shutter dim-
mer and no filters placed in the optical path. The procedure flattens the beam to produce and even beamspread
Axial adjustment
Adjuster (
A
) acts on a lever and spring assembly to position the lamp axially within the reflector.
Rotate the adjuster (
A
) until the beam produced is flat and even.
Horizontal adjustment
Adjuster (
B
) acts on a lever and spring assembly to position the lamp horizontally within the reflector. Rotate the adjuster (
B
)
until the beam produced is as required.
