Why isn’t the Power
Indicator light turning on?
•
Check that power adaptor is plugged into the power jack
of the 3D Pen and mains outlet properly and that the power
outlet is switched on
My Pen is not heating up
•
Check that the Power Indicator light is on
•
Press the Forward Button to start heating. When 3D Pen is
being heated, the Heat Indicator LED will turn red
There is no filament
extruding from the nozzle
•
Check the Heat Indicator light is green to ensure pen is
heated and ready for use
• Ensure there is sufficient filament in the Filament Port. When
filament’s length is too short for extrusion, the sound of
extrusion changes to a higher pitch, indicating to insert more
filament.
•
Check that the temperature is set hot enough to heat
the filament. You can adjust and increase the heating
temperature if necessary. Refer to pg 8 for Temperature
settings
• The filament may be jammed inside the port. Press the Eject
Button and trim off the ends of the filament and reinsert.
A lot of vapours/fumes
during extrusion
• The heating temperature is too high for the filament.
Decrease the temperature using the Temperature Dial
The filament is extruding
too fast
• The heating temperature is too high for the filament.
Decrease the temperature at the Temperature Dial
•
Decrease the speed of extrusion by moving the Speed Slider
towards the nozzle
Filament is not sticking to
surface
•
Ensure surface is clean and free from dust
• Angle the pen so that the filament is forced onto the surface
Can’t build in 3D - filament
doesn’t support itself
•
Decrease the speed of extrusion by moving the Speed Slider
towards the nozzle
