Troubleshooting Network/Remote Control Errors by Symptom
Symptom

Corrective Action
DashBoard™ does not discover
newly added BBG-1300-FR;
newly added BBG-1300-FR will
not connect to network
• DashBoard™ may not be set
to automatically discover
added devices
• Make certain DashBoard™ is set to
automatically discover devices.
• Damaged Ethernet cable or
cable connector; cable
mis-connected
• Make certain the Ethernet cable is properly
connected and showing activity on the LAN
switch indicators and the ETHERNET
connector indicator on the BBG-1300-FR.
Use
ping
to check the connection.
BBG-1300-FR connection to network is
shown on front panel as shown below.
Newly added BBG-1300-FR in
DashBoard™ that uses static IP
address will not activate (icon
stays grayed-out)
• BBG-1300-FR and LAN
computer on different networks
• Make certain LAN hosting computer and
BBG-1300-FR are on same network.
• Address conflict with other
nodes or another Network
Card
• Make certain that the LAN segment
containing the BBG-1300-FR, the hosting
computer, and intermediate hubs or switches
is isolated from other parts of the network.
Device that received user name
change still appears in
DashBoard with “old” name
• DashBoard and/or network not
set to automatically update or
detect changes
• If network does not allow name changes,
delete the old instance of the device and
manually re-add/re-query the device in
DashBoard. New name will now show in
DashBoard Basic Tree View.
Nuisance “beeper” alarms
• Alarms DashBoard page has
items set to provide alarms
where not intended
• Make certain items not requiring alarm
notice are set to Ignore. (This would be the
case where redundant power supply usage
is not being used. In this case, alarm items
related to the unused PSU should be set to
Ignore.)
