PARKING AND LEAVING THE VEHICLE
1. After stopping vehicle, set hand brake until it locks. Make sure it is fully engaged. This will prevent the
vehicle from rolling.
2. Turn the key switch to OFF and place the Forward/Reverse handle in the NEUTRAL position. Remove
the key. Turn fuel shut-off valve to closed (OFF) position when the vehicle is not in use (Figure 22,
Page 25). See also Figure 15.
BED LATCH
The Carryall 272 is equipped with a bed latch on the driver side of the vehicle (Figure 12) and an automati-
cally engaging prop rod (Figure 14). To lift the bed, pull the latch handle toward the rear of the vehicle and lift
the bed. To close the bed, lower it gently until the bed latch engages. DO NOT drop the bed.
• WHEN STOPPED ON A HILL, USE THE BRAKE PEDAL TO HOLD YOUR POSITION. DO NOT
USE THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL.
• KEEP HANDS CLEAR OF CRUSH AREA BETWEEN BED AND SEAT BACK SUPPORT.
• THE CARRYALL 272 IS EQUIPPED WITH AN AUTOMATICALLY ENGAGING PROP ROD,
UNLESS EQUIPPED WITH THE ELECTRIC BED LIFT ACCESSORY (FIGURE 14, PAGE 15).
