Preparing the Burner for

Refer to Figure 6A. Loosen the
locking nut on the air regulator.
5.
Turn the adjustment knob on the
air regulator counterclockwise
until 1/2" of the threads on the
knob are exposed. DO NOT
back the knob all the way out.
NOTE:
The air gauge will not
show any pressure until the burner
starts. Before starting the burner
for the first time, it is very
important to turn the air regulator
completely OFF as described.

Initial Adjustment of the
Combustion Air Band
Rotate the combustion air band
to adjust it to the appropriate slot
opening as listed in the
following
Initial Adjustment
Chart
. Use a ruler to accurately
set the slot opening at the widest
section of the slot.

WARNING:
The combustion air band must be properly adjusted to ensure that the burner
ignites and burns correctly. DO NOT attempt to start the burner with the combustion air band
wide open or completely closed. The burner may not ignite correctly. Failure to heed this warning may
result in a fire or explosion hazard.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
This initial setting of the combustion air band will allow you to start the burner.
You will fine tune the combustion air band further as described later in these instructions.
ATTENTION:
The settings shown in the chart below are only
initial
adjustments.
Final
adjustments must be done by inspecting the flame length according to the illustrations
provided on the following page.
NOTE:
The oil pressure is automatically adjusted by the metering pump.
