Connecting high-level cable (speaker cables)
Should only be used if your car stereo lacks a low
level output.
1. Connect the provided cable to the speaker
cables form your car stereo as shown.
2. Connect to the high-level input (fig. 2 point 7)
on your subwoofer.
n.B.
Many car stereos have both high-level and
low-level outputs. Use either the high- or the low-
level outputs, not both at the same time.
Connecting the loose volume control
1. Mount the volume control in a safe and
easily accessible place, so that it does not
negatively affect traffic safety.
2. Connect to the volume control cable to
REMOTE (fig. 1 point 1) on your subwoofer.
12 v connections
1. Connect an earth cable between GND on the
subwoofer and the chassis of your car. Make
sure that the cable is as short as possible,
preferably not over 50 cm and with an area
of at least 5 mm
²
. Scrape of paint from the
chassis to ensure a good connection. Use
a tooth lock washer if possible. Cover the
connection with grease or paint to protect it
from corrosion.
n.B.
If the earth connection
is not good enough, the speakers can make
a whining sound.
2. Connect a cable from REM on the subwoofer
(fig.2 point 2) to the car stereo’s REM output
or to the powered aerial connection. The
amplifier will then come on automatically as
soon as the stereo is turned on. Alternatively,
use the remote cable which is often built into
the RCA low-level cable and connect it to
REM on your subwoofer. If your car stereo
lacks a remote input, you can connect a
cable from REM on the subwoofer to 12 V
via a fuse in the car which becomes live
when the ignition is turned on.
