troubleshooting guide
The subwoofer does
not start.
•
Check all fuses.
•
Check the earth connection.
•
Make sure that the REM connection on the
subwoofer has at least 3 V DC.
•
Check that there is at least 12 V at the 12 V
connection.
•
Check that the LED light is not red. If it is red, refer
to the section “Use”.
The LED shines red
when the stereo is
turned on.
•
Check that the speaker cables are
not short-circuited.
•
Check the settings of the stereo volume and sub-
woofer level control (refer to
Input signal setting
).
Low volume.
•
Turn up the level control.
•
Check the Sub Sonic/LPF filter setting.
Poor sound, noise
and/or distortion.
•
Disconnect the RCA low-level cables. If the
distortion disappears, the cable is the culprit.
Try running another RCA cable across the seats in
the car. If the distortion disappears, rerun the RCA
cable. Always use good quality RCA cable.
•
Check all earthing points; all parts should preferably
be earthed at the same point.
•
Check the earth lead from the battery and its
connection to the chassis.
•
Make sure that all cables are correctly connected.
•
Check that the cables are not damaged in any way.
•
Make sure that the power and speaker cables are
not running close to each other.
•
Check the settings of the stereo volume
and subwoofer level control (refer to
Input
signal setting
).
•
Check the Sub Sonic/LPF filter setting.
