Attaching/removing the wheels
Front wheel
1. Loosen the front wheel axle nuts (12) using a 15 mm spanner or socket.
2. Loosen the nuts until the clip retaining
washers come free from the fork
dropout holes. Remove the wheel (9).
3. Refit the wheel by slotting the wheel axle
back into the fork dropouts and then slotting
the clip retaining washers back into the fork
dropout holes.
Warning: The clip retaining
screws must be securely slotted into their
respective dropout holes, otherwise there
is a risk that the wheel may come loose
during use and cause personal injury to the rider.
4. Tighten the axle nuts securely.
Rear wheel
1. Loosen the rear wheel axle nuts (11) using a 15 mm spanner or socket.
2. Slide the rear wheel (10) as far forward in the dropouts as possible.
3. Once the chain (14) is slack enough, remove it from the chainring (15).
4. Then remove the chain from the freewheel sprocket (13).
5. Slide the wheel backwards until the wheel comes free from the dropouts, lift
the chain out of the way and remove the wheel.
6. Refit the wheel by first draping the chain over the wheel axle and slotting the wheel
axle back into the dropouts and pushing it as far forward as possible.
7. Then, refit the chain back onto the chainring and freewheel sprocket.
8. Finally, pull the wheel backwards until
the chain is taut.
Note:
Make sure that
the chain is adequately taut. Free play
from the chain’s midpoint should not
exceed 20 mm.
9. Slightly tighten down the right axle
nut, centre the wheel between
the chainstays and make sure
that the wheel is equidistant from
the chainstays on both sides.
10. Tighten the left axle nut securely when the correct position is reached, and finally
tighten the right axle nut so that it sits securely in place.
