With the case removed, you can access the carbon brushes. NOTE: Pay attention to the way the carbon
brush wires are folded up. The photos in this section had the wires moved to show the detail of the brush
and spring.
•
Lift the spring tab to slide the brush out of the holder.
•
Remove the screw that attaches the wire tab to the contact.
•
Remove the carbon brush.
•
Install new brushes in the reverse order. Insure the spring tab is seated properly on the carbon brush.
•
Now gently fold the wires up toward the rotor end of the assembly.
•
Re-install the case. NOTE: Be careful to keep your fingers clear. The magnets will “suck” the case from
your hands.
