OPERATION
1. Raise the handle all the way up.
Turn both height adjustment
handles at the same time and by
the same amount to open the
blades far enough for the block
to be inserted.
2. Place the block in the centre of
the blades and adjust its position
to the required cut line.
3. Swivel the moving handle support
bar aside to allow the handle to
descend fully.
4. Lower the handle to bring the
blade tightly onto the block.
AVOID TURNING EITHER OF THE HEIGHT ADJUSTERS INDIVIDUALLY. THEY
SHOULD BE USED AS A PAIR, ENSURING THAT THE WHOLE LENGTH OF
THE BLADE SITS EVENLY ON THE SURFACE OF THE BLOCK.
5. Adjust the height adjustment handles to set the top blade in relation to the
block.
•
The handle should rest at
approximately
15
o
above
horizontal when the blade is
sitting on the block prior to
splitting. This also gives adequate
clearance when the handle is
fully raised to move similar blocks
in and out of the splitter.
6. With the blade in full contact with
the block, push the handle down
quickly to split the block.
7. Fully raise the handle to insert the
next block. Normally, there should be no need to make any further height
adjustments to split similar blocks. To split blocks of a different size, follow
steps 1 & 2.
DO NOT TRY TO CUT TOO CLOSE TO THE EDGE OF THE BLOCK. THIS
COULD RESULT IN CRACKING, CRUMBLING, OR A RAGGED FINISH TO
THE SPLIT.
