REQUISITES
This chapter provides a checklist-format note of planning considerations prior to installation.
Installer
1
The Gateway must be installed by a certified CITEL partner, contact
for details.
Phone Users
1
Ensure all the legacy telephones are supported on the Gateway
2
Ensure you have 24 or fewer legacy telephones per Gateway
3
Ensure each legacy telephone is relabeled for the new IP Centrex functions
4
Ensure legacy telephone users have been trained on the new IP Centrex
telephone functionality
Hardware
Ensure you have the following minimum hardware to install and operate the Gateway:

All in-box items for the Gateway

Connection via LAN or WAN to a supported IP Centrex System, using CAT 5
straight-through cable with RJ-45 connectors

A.C. power source within 5 feet / 1.5 m (see Appendix A for other environmental
specifications)

Correct power cord for the country of installation (see Appendix A for
specifications)

RJ21x 50-way extension line with 25-pair/50-way Amphenol-type connectors to
connect between the 50-way male connector on the gateway, and a punchdown
block (may reuse existing wiring)

Punchdown block and telephone cables (may reuse existing wiring)
7
Ensure the station wiring for each telephone is within the maximum loop length
(see page 7)

Ensure the station wiring for each legacy telephone is appropriate quality for
digital telephone operation (Cat 3 minimum)

RS232 straight -through DTE 9-pin serial cable
