This publication provides instructions for installing the Fiber Distributed Data Interface (FDDI)
modules in the AGS+ router. These modules include the FDDI interface card with translational
bridging (CSC-C2FCIT) and the four available fiber-optic transceiver appliques, which provide
single-mode and/or multimode network interfaces. The C2FCIT card operates with the second-
generation ciscoBus card (CSC-CCTL2).

This publication also includes instructions for upgrading the C2FCIT microcode when required.

The sections following are included in this publication:

FDDI Module Overview, page 2

Installation Prerequisites, page 7

Installing Cards and Appliques, page 14

Testing the Installation, page 23

Upgrading Microcode, page 28

Note

The procedures in the section “Testing the Installation” assume that your system has been

operating correctly up until the time you performed this installation or upgrade, and that any
problems are a result of this procedure.
