8.4. Recommended Spare Parts
The X Series Portaspec has been in production since January 2006 without a
catastrophic failure. Only minor components have been exchanged to this date.
Currently, the leading reason for unscheduled service and repair is from rough
handling when transporting the Portaspec, whether by contracted shipping agent
or by internal moving.
The general robustness of the Portaspec leads us to recommend a minimal spare
parts inventory for most users. We have generated two spare parts lists. One for
the continental United States and those countries or territories serviced by next or
second day, partial delivery providers (US) and another for areas of the world where
this type of service may not be provided (International).
