8.2.3 Setting the Stop

Select the “Scaler” tab and press the “Read Count Rate” button.
2. Record the average count rate as you want to achieve this level or exceed it
when this procedure is complete.

Insert a 5/64” hex wrench into the element stop to be adjusted and loosen the
screw. This stop should be the one most accessible.
4. Now slightly rotate the Element Dial back and forth while observing the count
rate. Your intent is to maximize the count rate while staying very close to the
intended element setting. Keep in mind that the refresh rate on the display is
slow. You should move the dial slightly and wait for the display to stabilize
before moving it again.
After completing the Element Stop adjustment and reinstalling the Element Stop
Access Cover and Element Dial Cover, check to see if the element position selected
is aligned in the Element Dial Cover window.
Upon returning to the analysis mode, it is highly recommended that you Standardize
before continuing to analyze.
