IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always
be followed, including the following:
1.
READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS.
2. Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles or knobs. Always use hot
pads or pot holders until unit cools.
3. To protect against risk of electric shock, do not immerse the cord,
plug or cooking body in water or any other liquid.
4. This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including
children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or
lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given
supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliances by a
person responsible for their safety.
5. Close supervision is necessary when this appliance is used by or
near children.
6. Always unplug from wall socket when not in use or before cleaning.
Allow to cool completely before putting on or taking off the parts,
and before cleaning this appliance.
7. Do not operate this appliance with a damaged cord or plug or after
this appliance malfunctions or has been damaged in any manner.
Bring this appliance to a qualified technician for examination, repair
or adjustment.
8. The use of accessories or attachments not recommended by the
manufacturer may cause fire, electrical shock or injury.
9. Do not use outdoors.
10. Do not let cord hang over edge of table or counter, where it can
inadvertently be pulled on or tripped over, or touch hot surfaces,
which damage the cord.
11. Do not place this appliance on or near a hot gas or electric burner
or in a heated oven.
12. Do not operate under cabinets.
13. Use on a sturdy, heat-resistant, flat, level surface only.
14. It is recommended that this appliance not be moved when it
remains hot.
15. Always turn the heating control dial to OFF plugging cord into the
electrical outlet. To disconnect, turn the heating control dial to OFF,
then remove plug from electrical outlet.
16. This appliance generates heat during use. Proper precautions
must be taken to prevent the risk of burns, fire or other damage to
persons or property.
17. A fire may occur if the Hot Plate is covered or touching flammable
material, including curtains, wall coverings, clothing, dish towels or
other flammable materials, when in operation. To avoid excessive
heat on wall(s) while cooking, always keep a space of at least 4
inches between this appliance and the rear and side walls.
18. Extreme caution must be used when moving any pot or pan
containing hot oil, other hot liquids or other hot substances from
this appliance.
19. Use with wall receptacle only.
20. Do not clean with metal scouring pads. This can scratch and ruin
the finish of this appliance. Pieces can break off the pad and touch
electrical parts, creating hazards.
21. Exercise extreme caution when using containers constructed of
ceramic or glass.
22. Extreme caution must be used when moving any pot or pan
containing hot oil, other hot liquids or other hot substances from
this appliance.
23. Do not cover this appliance with metal foils. This may cause
overheating of this appliance
24. Do not leave this appliance on overnight or for prolonged periods
of non-use.
25. Always keep hands, hair and cloth away from the cooking surface.
26. Do not leave this appliance unattended during use or when Hot
Plate is ON.
27. Do not use as a portable heater.
28. Do not use for other than intended use.
