3. Clamp Up Proximity Switch
This switch is mounted inside the rear of the arch casting, Figure 7. It is tripped by the clamp when
the clamp is in the up position. This switch prevents backgauge movement if the clamp is not up. On
machines equipped with the air table option, it also diverts the air from the table when the clamp is
down to prevent the stock from moving during a cut. This switch is tripped by a actuator on the top of
the clamp and must be adjusted to within 1/8” (3.2mm) of the face of the switch.

4. False Clamp Sheath Limit Switch
This switch is mounted on the false clamp sheath on the right side of the machine, Figure 7. It is
tripped when the false clamp plate is in the sheath. This switch prevents the backgauge from getting
any closer then 2” to the clamp if the false clamp plate is not in the sheath. If the switch is actuated
(the false clamp plate is in the sheath) then the minimum cut size is 3/4
”. To check the switch – slide
the false clamp plate into the sheath and check that the light on the switch is on. If the switch needs
to be adjusted, move the switch
to within 1/8” (3.2mm) from the face of the switch to the metal false
clamp plate.
