3.  Use the 2.5mm hex key to push the dowel out. Alternatively, a small mallet and/or a small 

screwdriver can be used instead or to assist in this step. 

 

 

 

 

4.  Carefully separate the grip halves and remove spring out. The hex key or screwdriver will 

have likely taken the place of the dowel in the pivot hold of the grip. Carefully hold the 
grip with one hand while removing the hex key or screwdriver. 

 

 

 

System Alert

 

A fully installed spring experiences a high amount of stored energy.   When removing 
the spring from the grip, be sure to maintain pressure on both halves of the grip. Safety 
glasses are recommended when changing grip springs. 

 

5.  Remove the dowel from inside the Compression Platen. 

 

6.  Place the desired spring into the cutout of the bottom half of the grip.
