Maintenance
The condenser coils at the back of the cooling unit will collect dust, dirt and lint over time.
Therefore, it is critically important to keep the coils clean, and/or replace the poly-coated filter,
and/or clean the cleanable filter screen periodically. If the condenser coils or filter become
clogged, the cooling unit will not have proper airflow and its performance and longevity will be
compromised.
Only use CellarPro filters. Using a pleated or other type filter will cause serious damage to the condenser
fan and the compressor. The filter frames are magnetic and attach to the rear of the cooling unit.
-
To replace the poly-coated filter, remove the filter frame from the cooling unit, pull out
the old filter media, and insert a new filter. Reattach the filter with the blue side facing
out, making sure the magnet strips make firm contact with the unit housing.
-
To clean the cleanable filter screen, remove the filter screen and rinse the screen with
water and mild soap until all debris is removed. Shake off the excess water, then reattach
the filter to the cooling unit, making sure the magnet strips make firm contact with the
unit housing.
-
The condenser coils themselves also can be cleaned with a vacuum cleaner
–
ideally with
a brush attachment to loosen dust caught between the fins.
