Hydraulic equipment troubleshooting (cont.)
Problem
Possible Cause
Remedy
Diamond segments become
detached
Diamond saw blade is
overheated, insufficient
cooling
Solder diamond sections on again.
Optimise cooling water supply:
•
Check the position of the water valve.
•
Clean the dirt sieve of the flushing water
connection.
•
Check the flushing water pump impeller and
replace the impeller if necessary.
Segment wear is too high
Incorrect diamond saw
blade type
Use a harder type of diamond saw blade
Diamond saw blade is
overheated
Optimise cooling water supply:
•
Check the position of the water valve.
•
Clean the dirt sieve of the flushing water
connection.
•
Check the flushing water pump impeller and
replace the impeller if necessary.
Cutting shaft is bent
(wobbles)
Replace blade drive (have bearing and/or cutting
shaft replaced).
Eccentric wear on the
diamond segments
Blade mounting has shrunk Replace protective sleeve.
Too much bearing play at
cutting shaft
Replace blade drive (have bearing and/or cutting
shaft replaced).
Diamond saw blade does
not cut
Diamond saw blade not
adjusted to material to be cut
Use correct diamond saw blade type.
Diamond saw blade not
matched to machine
performance
Use correct diamond saw blade type.
Diamond saw blade is too
“hard”
Use “softer” diamond saw blade.
Diamond segments are
blunt
Sharpen diamond saw blade.
Cutting line is not optimal
Poor diamond saw blade
clamping
Send diamond saw blade to manufacturer.
Diamond saw blade is too
heavily loaded
Reduce feed.
Diamond segments are
blunt
Sharpen diamond saw blade.
Diamond saw blade is
discoloured
Diamond saw blade is
overheated
Optimise cooling water supply:
•
Check the position of the water valve.
•
Clean the dirt sieve of the flushing water
connection.
•
Check the flushing water pump impeller and
replace the impeller if necessary.
Side friction of diamond
saw blade too high
Reduce feed.
