Getting Ready to Exercise

This section explains how to connect the ear clip and prepare the Pulse
Monitor to wear during exercise.

Ear Clip Wire

If you need to disconnect the ear clip wire from the Pulse Monitor, grasp
the two connectors to pull them apart. Never pull by the wires. Doing so
can damage the wires and cause shorting.

Optional Replacement ear clip: CSP-ES1-1

Putting On the Pulse Monitor for Exercise

Use the following procedure to put on the Pulse Monitor just before you
start your exercise. For details about actually using the Pulse Monitor
during exercise, see “Performing Elapsed Time and Pulse
Measurements”.

To put on the Pulse Monitor for exercise

1. Hold down the

POWER

button for about two seconds to turn on

power.

2. With the control box positioned so it rests on the back of your neck,

hang the two arms on your ears as shown in the illustration so the
earpieces are aligned comfortably with your ears.

3. Clip the ear clip onto your earlobe as shown in the illustration below.

It is a good idea to try a few test measurements before actually using
the Pulse Monitor while exercising.

Make sure the ear clip wire does not become twisted or pulled while
