Heat pump heating performance (English) continued

* The kw values include the compressor, outdoor fan motor, and indoor blower motor. The kw from supplement heaters should be added to these

values to obtain total system kilowatts.

† The Btuh heating capacity values shown are net integrated values from which the defrost effect has been subtracted. The Btuh heating from sup-

plement heaters should be added to those values to obtain total system capacity.

EDB — Entering Dry Bulb

System Design

1. Intended for outdoor installation with free air inlet and outlet. Outdoor fan external static pressure available is less than

0.01-in. wg.

2. Minimum outdoor operating air temperature for cooling mode without low-ambient operation accessory is 55

°

F (12.8

°

C).

3. Maximum outdoor operating air temperature for cooling mode is 125

°

F (51.7

°

C), except for some 3 phase models it is 115

°

(46.7

°

C).

4. Minimum outdoor operating air temperature for heating mode is –30

°

F (–34.4

°

C).

5. Maximum outdoor operating air temperature for heating mode is 66

°

F (18.9

°

C).

6. For reliable operation, unit should be level in all horizontal planes.
7. Maximum elevation of indoor coil above or below base of outdoor unit is: indoor coil above = 50 ft (15.24m), indoor coil below

= 150 ft (45.72m). (See items 8 and 9 following.)

8. For interconnecting refrigerant tube lengths greater than 50 ft (15.24m), consult Long-Line Application Guideline available from

equipment distributor.

9. Not more than 36 in. (912mm) of refrigerant tube should be buried in the ground. If necessary to bury tubes under a sidewalk,

provide a minimum 6-in. (152mm) vertical rise to the valve connections at the unit.

10. Use only copper wire for electric connection at unit. Aluminum and clad aluminum are not acceptable for the type of connector

provided.

11. Mixmatches of indoor coil capacity more than 1 size larger than outdoor unit capacity may result in inadequate indoor comfort.
