Use the 5/8” thread in the underside of the bracket to secure the VS+ to a tripod.
To attach the VS+ to a legacy aluminum boom, slot the spigot into the end of the boom and secure it in place with
a holding pin.
4.4 Customised deployment devices
As an alternative to a standard Carlson boom, many users design their own boom or other deployment device to
suit their specific operational and site requirements. In some cases, the probe fits directly to the deployment device.
In other cases, where there are different mechanical configurations, the tripod bracket or boom adaptor may be
used.
Due to the wide range of possible ways of deploying the VS+, this manual does not describe any method of
attachment in detail. If you wish to design your own customized deployment device, the relevant drawings and
dimensions of the probe can be supplied. For further advice and information, contact Carlson.
