4. CONFIGURATION AND START-UP
4.1 Basic configuration of the master e-drofan and µC
2
SE devices
Important:
Before powering up the µC
2
SE connected to the common RS485 data line, the devices must be configured,
following the procedure described below. If this is not done, there may be alterations in the operating data
set by the manufacturer, with the risk of faults in the operation of the chiller/hp.
4.1.1 Configuring the master e-drofan
To set the e-drofan parameters, use an acqua terminal (the e-droset terminal cannot be used to set the
e-drofan parameters).
Procedure
Make sure that the µC
2
SE (if connected to the data line) is not on, then for each master e-drofan, set the
parameters shown in the table below; to access the parameters:
If the “time” field the on the acqua terminal is flashing (incorrect time), press SET;
Switch the e-drofan OFF by pressing the ON/OFF button on the terminal;
Press MODE and CLEAR for 5 seconds: “P ON” is displayed (SuperUser parameter), the value 00 flashes;
Use UP/DOWN to set the value 22 (password) and confirm by pressing SET: “P 00” flashes (parameter 00);
Use UP/DOWN to choose “P 92” (“P 92” flashes);
Press SET (the value 00 flashes)
Use UP/DOWN to set 66 (password), confirm by pressing SET: “P 92” flashes;
Use UP/DOWN to choose the desired parameter “P xx”; press SET (the value flashes), change using
UP/DOWN and confirm by pressing SET (“P xx” flashes)
Wait until the normal display resumes (30 seconds): the changes will be saved automatically.

4.1.2 Configuring the µC
2
SE (only for systems featuring an external unit fitted with this
device)
Procedure
Make sure that the µAM is not powered. Switch on the µC
2
SE and set the parameters shown in the table
below; to access the parameters:
Press PRG and SEL for 5 seconds: the SUN and SNOW symbols come on and the display shows 00;
Use UP/DOWN to set 66 (password) and confirm by pressing SEL: “S-P” is displayed (parameters menu);
Confirm by pressing SEL: “-/-” is displayed (“/”group of parameters); use UP/DOWN to change the
group, choosing -H- or -P-
Confirm by pressing SEL: “H01” or “P01” is displayed (first parameter in the chosen group);
Use UP/DOWN to choose the desired parameter and confirm by pressing SEL: the value of the parame-
ter being set is displayed;
Use UP/DOWN to change the value and confirm by pressing SEL (this permanently saves the change),
or PRG to cancel the setting;
Press PRG per choose another group of parameters.
When the settings are complete press PRG repeatedly to return to the normal display.

Note 1:
depending on the type of system and the settings, µAM may send µC
2
SE the signal to activate
the Humidification function (control of a humidifier) and control a boiler, if installed; if these devices are
featured, the manufacturer of the external unit must have set a number of specific parameters on the
µC
2
SE so as to associate to the control signals from the µAM for the “humidifier” and “boiler” functions to
two physical outputs (relays) available. See parameters P25 to P32 and H11 in the µC
2
SE manual.
Note 2:
µAM
may send µC
2
SE the signal to activate the Dehumidification function, which for the µC
2
SE
involves the use a specific water temperature set point for Dehumidification mode (parameter r26 on
µC
2
SE) rather that the normal set point (r01).
For Dehumidification to be effective, the Dehumidification set point must be set to a lower temperature
than the normal set point.
The setting will have been completed by the manufacturer of the external unit, considering the limits
within which the unit can operate without the risk of faults.
