CAPTAIN 273 4WD

4.1 Operation

WARNING:

Carefully read the starting instructions on the two side on fender decals.

4.2

ENGINE

Starting the engine

WARNING

Make sure that the starting system allows the engine to start only when the lever and

Low/high selector lever are in the neutral position. If this fails to occur, have the tractor repaired by your
Dealer or authorized service center.

A- Check that, the gearshift lever and the range selector lever are in neutral.

B- Move the low/high speed selector lever to neutral position.

C- Move the hand throttle lever to about halfway position.

D - Depress the clutch pedal all the way.

4.3 Cold weather starting (temperatures below 0°C) (32°F)

CAUTION:

When outdoor temperatures drop to around or below 0°C. (32°F), check the cooling

system and if necessary add the recommended antifreeze.

WARNING:

Do not inject fluids (ether) to make the engine easier to start in cold weather. The

tractor is equipped with a cold

WARNING:

When the engine is running, keep at a safe distance from the radiator fan.

WARNING:

To prevent accidents, never allow anyone to sit on the mudguards or on any other

part of the tractor or implement.

Proceed as follows:

Perform operations A, B, C, and D as instructed above.

Turn the ignition key to the pre-heat position and keep it there for 20 seconds, then turn the ignition

Key

to the "START" position. If the engine fails to start within 15 seconds, return the key to the

preheating position.
