Installing the Printer Driver When Using Mac OS 9
When using Mac OS 9, install the printer driver following the procedure below.
Before installing the driver, disable all virus detection programs and
automatically loading programs, or remove them from your system folder.

Turn on your Mac and insert the
Setup Software & User’s Guide CD-ROM
.

Open the M
Mac OS 9 folder on the CD-ROM, then double–click the P
Printer
Driver folder.

Double-click the IInstaller icon in the P
Printer Driver folder.

Read the LLicense Agreement and click A
Accept, if you agree.

Click IInstall.
The printer driver will load automatically.

If the message “No other applications can be running” appears, click
Continue.

When the “Installation was successful” screen is displayed, click R
Restart.

From the A
Application folder, double-click on the software to be installed.
Follow the on-screen instructions.

When the “Installation has Finished” screen appears, click O
OK.

When prompted, restart your computer.

After the computer restarts, TURN THE PRINTER ON, and select the A
Apple
menu, then C
Chooser.

Click the P
PIXMA iP4000 or P
PIXMA iP3000 icon in the C
Chooser.
Do not click the P
PIXMA iP4000(SV) or P
PIXMA iP3000(SV) icon.

Close the C
Chooser.
