Note

8 Select the Interface

If the printer is connected to the computer through the USB or parallel port,
you must use the printer operation panel to select the appropriate interface
setting. If the correct interface setting is not selected, the printer will not be
able to communicate with the computer.

The USB port is selected before shipping. If the printer has just been set up and
connected to the computer via the USB port, you do not need to perform the
interface selection.
