3. INK SUPPLY

This printer supplies ink by tubes.

Damper rubber

Print head

Cap

Purging tube

Pump

Ink supply tube

Valve

Needle

Ink tank

Air-through hole

Buffer tank

Air

The valve located in the midway of the ink supply tube is closed when the printer is on standby
status. It is open during printing or filling ink inside the print head.
The negative pressure is generated by the height difference between the ink surface inside the
ink tank and inside the print head. The ink tank has an air-through hole on the side. This
prevents the pressure inside the ink tank from fluctuating due to temperature change.
