Setting
Description
Paper curve
Adjust the paper curve setting when the printed image looks like
a trapezoid. Increase the paper curve value to correct a distorted
image. Decrease the setting value to correct the paper from
creasing, curving marks, or curled edges.
Paper realignment speed
Adjust the speed for adjusting the image position.
Paper reversal distance
Adjust the paper reversal distance.
Lead margin and Tail margin
Adjust the lead and tail end margins if the output paper is folded
or bent at the corner, or if paper jams occur.
Correct image for scratching
Select the check box to improve image quality if paper, which
has been stored in a low-temperature environment, is being
used.
Registration: Front and Back
X shift (mm or inch)
Make a fine adjustment to enable printing with the correct
alignment of the image from the leading edge of the paper in the
feed direction.
Y shift (mm or inch)
Make a fine adjustment to enable printing with the correct
alignment of the image from the side edge of the paper
perpendicular to the feed direction.
X elongation (0.01%)
Make a fine adjustment to the image size in the feed direction.
Y elongation (0.01%)
Make a fine adjustment to the image size perpendicular to the
feed direction.
Bottom skew
Correct the alignment of the image.
Left-hand and Right-hand skew
Correct the alignment of the image.
Trapezoid height
Adjust the height of an image that looks like a trapezoid.
Trapezoid bottom and Trapezoid
top
Adjust the bottom and top of an image that looks like a
trapezoid.
Diamond shape length
Adjust the length of a diamond-shaped image.
Diamond shape bottom and
Diamond shape top
Adjust the bottom and top of a diamond-shaped image.
Tail end white patch correction
threshold
Make an adjustment to improve the white patch/fading at the tail
end of the paper when printing 2-sided documents. Select
negative values if fading in high-density areas appear. Select
positive values if white areas appear.
Amount
Specify a value to improve image quality when printing in the 2-
Sided mode and the media is curled.
Secondary transfer voltage
If blurred images occur, adjust the voltage that transfers toner to
the paper. Decrease the value when (1) thin paper is used, (2)
tiny white spots appear in low-density areas, (3) white spots
appear in high-density areas, and (4) the used paper has a
rough surface, such as embossed paper, and white spots
appear on the concave side. Increase the value when (1) thick
paper is used, (2) density is low in all areas of the paper, (3)
uneven, glossy areas occur in high-density images, and (4)
Outlines in high-density images blur.
112 It is recommended to adjust this setting in small steps, and then check the output after each adjustment.
