ITB cleaning block
The residual (waste) toner is cleared from the ITB surface.
Step 8: ITB cleaning
The ITB cleaning roller and the cleaning brush are applied with DC positive bias to charge the
residual toner positive.
As the primary transfer pad is also applied with DC positive bias, the positively charged
residual toner is reverse transferred to the photosensitive drum from the ITB surface.

The waste toner is cleared from the photosensitive drum surface.
Step 9: Drum cleaning
The cleaning blade scrapes the waste toner off the surface of the photosensitive drum. The
waste toner is deposited in the waste toner container.
