VI. USE
•
Wash your hands thoroughly and make sure your breasts are clean. Express some milk to check that your milk ducts are
not blocked. The pump must be sterile and assembled.
•
Sit down and relax in a comfortable chair, leaning forward slightly (Use a soft and comfortable pillow as a backrest).
•
Put the pump on your breast and start the pump motor.
A. Massage (Stimulation) – The button to activate this function is :
This feature helps to stimulate the flow of breast milk. We recommend that you use this option first and then switch to
suction mode. The massage mode mimics breastfeeding a baby, not too hard, and stimulates the flow of milk. The
pumping mode also mimics baby sucking, but is stronger than the first mode, more even and with great efficiency.
Press the massage button. You can adjust the stimulation levels with the "<" and ">" buttons. They are a total of 5.
B. Suction – The button to activate this function is
:
Press the mode dial and activate the squeeze function. You can adjust the suction levels with the "<" and ">" buttons.
They are a total of 9.
C. Combined function massage with suction:
Press the suction button and then the massage button. This way you activate the combined function. It is with 9 levels
and proceeds as follows: 3 times massage and 1 time suction. You can adjust the levels with the "<" and ">" buttons.
D. Memory function: Turn off the umping mechanism and automatically will be remembered the last level of massage
that you used. Even if you have used the suction function, right before turning off the mechanism. When you turn on the
mechanism again, the last saved massage level will automatically switch on.
Е. Tips:
•
If there is no result during pumping, do not continue! Try using the pump at another time of the day.
•
On average, you have to pump for 8 minutes to drain 120 ml of milk. Keep in mind that the amount of milk varies from
woman to woman. If you find that you usually squeeze more than 120 ml per session, then you should use a larger
feeding bottle.
•
Do not overfill the milk bottle to prevent milk from leaking out of the bottle.
•
When you stop using the pump, switch it off from the ON / OFF button. Then remove the tube from the back of the
pump body. Remove the pump body from the bottle. Close the bottle with the ring and the pacifier and place a cap on
top to keep it sterile.
VII. WHEN TO USE YOUR BREAST PUMP
1. If it is possible. Only if you have sufficient milk secretion and normal time for breast feeding. The use of the electric
breast pump may begin usually two or four weeks after the birth of your baby.
2. In the following cases you can always use your breast pump:
•
When breast milk must be provided to your baby, but you are in the hospital.
•
If you have more breast milk, you can express some of it between meals in order to reduce the pain of the bulging
breasts, and this way it is easier for the baby to suck.
•
If your nipples pain or are cracking, you can express some milk for feeding until the nipples get back.
3.If you need to separate with your baby and hope to continue breastfeeding after reunion, breast milk can be expressed
periodically to maintain milk secretion.
VIII. HINTS
1. It takes practice in order to use the breast pump the best possible way. So it will take you at least several attempts
before starting successfully to use the electric breast pump.
Choose a quiet time to use the pump – time, when no one will disturb you.
2. Sit in a comfortable chair, in a perpendicular position to the ground. Put a comfortable cushion behind your back before
you start using the breast pump. Take a glass of water and place it near you, because you may feel thirsty during the
pumping process.
3. Place a warm cloth on your breasts for a few minutes before starting to express the milk as this may facilitate the
process and relieve the tension in the breasts.
4. Warmth and relaxation can help for the easier pumping of the breast milk, so before using the pump, you might like to
take a bath or a shower.
5. Try expressing from one breast while your baby is feeding from the other, or continue expressing just after the feed.
6. Repositioning the pump on your breast from time to time can help stimulate the secretion. Practice in order to find the
best pumping technique for you. If the process is causing you breast pain, stop immediately and consult with a doctor at
once.
7. Make sure that you have not blocked or covered the air opening of the pump body.
