How to Test the Battery
Your system may include a
backup battery. If it does, the
system will continue to function
during a power failure, because
it will draw power from the bat-
tery.
You can test the charge in your
system's battery by following
the procedure to the right.
If your backup battery's charge
is low, the service LED lights.
To investigate the service mes-
sage, follow the instructions in
"Troubleshooting Service Con-
ditions," later in this section.
To replace your system's bat-
tery, contact your service rep-
resentative.
To Test the Battery:
1.
Press and hold the
[walk test] key for 2 seconds
until you hear two beeps.
Enter the master user code.

Press the
key

times
until you see the fol-
lowing:

Press the
key.

Press the
key. The
keypad beeps three times.
The battery test begins. The
test takes approximately 3
minutes. To clear the display,
press the
key.
When the test is over, the key-
pad beeps. If the battery's
charge is low, the service
LED lights.
To replace your system's bat-
tery, call for service.
