3.7 Safety devices
Automatic switch-off of the system: if not used for over 20 minutes and t
he charge ˃ 20% or not used for 5 minutes and
the charge is ˂ 20%, the shear switches off. It is turned back on by pressing the button (11).
Trigger guard (20): prevents accidental activation of the trigger (15).
Automatic switch-off of the shear: if not used for over 5 minutes (SAFE function). It turns back on by pressing the trigger
(15) 2-3 times.
Switching off the shear: Keep the trigger (15) pressed >5 seconds (STOP function). It turns back on by pressing the trig-
ger (15) 2-3 times. LED (16) on shear: indicates whether the shear is on or off.
4 INSTALLATION
4.1 Start-up
• Recharge the battery (1) with the battery charger (34) (see paragraph 5.3).
• Apply the battery (1) to the backpack (4) following the instructions indicated below.
• Apply the display (10) to the belt of the backpack (4) (right or left)
• Connect the display (10) to the battery pack (1) by means of the connector (7) passing the cord through the loops (27).
• Connect the shear to the battery pack (1) by means of the connector (6) passing the cord through the loops (27).
4.1.1 Installation of battery and components on backpack
• Remove the backpack (4) and the battery (1) from the case.
• Recharge the battery (1) with the battery charger (34) (see paragraph 5.3).
• Insert the bracket (32) in the window of the backpack (4) (picture G).
• Insert the belt through the loop (33) at the top of the battery (1) (picture F).
IMPORTANT!
If the backpack (4) is fitted properly, the connector of the battery charger (8) can be accessed without removing
the battery pack (1).
4.1.2 Left side shear operation configuration
The battery pack is supplied with a shell for the electronic control unit (21) set for right side shear operation. To invert the
electronic control unit shell (21), proceed as follows:
- Unscrew the two screws (35).
- Turn the shell of the electronic control unit (21) 180° without this disconnecting the internal cord.
- Tighten the two screws (35) repositioning the bracket (32) at the back of the battery (1).
