For the connection of the unit to the chimney

fl

ue, use only

non-combustible elements suitable to resist to the combustion

products and to the condensate (creosote) build-up.

The  appliance  works  with  negative  pressure;  to  prevent

creosote from building up and be conveyed to the appliance

it  is  important  that  the  connection  to  the  chimney

fl

ue  be

sealed and airtight.

The  connection  to  the  chimney

fl

ue  should  ensure  easy

removal  of  soot  and  routine  cleaning  by  means  of  a  metal

brush.

After  having  placed  the  appliance  in  the  exact  position  as

indicated under section 2.3.3, use rigid steel pipes with the

same  section  as  the  “

fl

ue  exit  pipe”  (see  technical  sheet,

section 1.3) to carry out the connection to the chimney

fl

ue,

and perfectly seal the connection. (Use UL certi

The passageway for conveying

fl

ue gases from the appliance

to  the  “chimney

fl

ue”  (technically,  chimney)  is  called  “

fl

ue

conduit”. The

fl

ue conduit must be built in compliance with

the standard UL-127

The  chimney

fl

ue  or  the  vertical  exhaust  vent  for  the

fl

ue

gases from a natural draught appliance must therefore meet

the following requirements:

t

be

fl

ue  gas-  and  water-tight,  and  properly  insulated  from

combustible or

fl

ammable materials according to the usage

conditions.

t

be made of materials resistant to usual mechanical shocks,

heat,

fl

ue gases and possible condensate;

t

have all connections to the di

ff

erent elements of which the

fl

ue conduit is made of properly sealed and airtight;

t

be as much as possible vertical; any angle from its axis must

not exceed 45°;

t

be  installed  at  an  adequate  distance  away  from  any

combustible or

fl

ammable materials by means of an air

fl

ow

or of an insulating material;

t

have  an  inner  section  preferably  circular;  we  therefore

recommend  piping  installed  within  square  or  rectangular

chimneys (which otherwise must have a 1-to-1.5 internal sizes

max. ratio and a radius of curvature of the interior angles of at

least 20 mm);

t

the interior section must be invariable, free from constrictions

and independent.

A  cleanout  opening  with  a  tight

fi

tting  lid  under  the

connection  betweeen  the  exhaust  pipe  an  the  appliance

should be provided for allowing access to the chimney

fl

ue

for purposes of inspecting and removing solid materials and

possible condensate.
