Cable requirements
Recommended ground cable requirements
•
Use AWG #2 cable (AWG #6 minimum).
•
Use a 2-hole compression lug with hole spacing of 5/8", 1", or 1-1/4", and a bolt
size of 1/4".
•
Leave 4 feet of cable above the top of the pad.
Recommended AC power cable requirements
•
Use AWG #6 cable minimum.
•
Leave 6 feet of cable above the top of the pad.
•
Follow National Electric Code (NEC) and local codes when installing AC power.
Recommended copper subscriber cable requirements
•
Leave 8 to 10 feet of cable above the top of the pad.
•
Have appropriate termination equipment and tools available.
Recommended fiber cable requirements
•
Use single-mode fiber only.
•
Use a fiber splice value no greater than 0.5 dB loss.
•
Leave 6 feet of cable above the top of the pad.

Modify for local conditions
Local climatic conditions, site conditions, or local practices may
require modifications to cable termination. The following are
minimum requirements.
