The module demonstrates a post-partum vagina with elongated genitalia with swelling. The labia
minora is set up to expose the vaginal orifice, a second degree midline episiotomy and a thrombosed
external anal hemorrhoid.
To set up the module:
1. Place the bottom of the Fundus skin panty underneath the manikin (like a diaper is
placed). This will be placed over the chest skin.
2. Remove the abdominal plate, and disconnect the black speaker connection.
3. Insert the metal bracket into the abdominal cavity.
4. Insert the foam padding on top of the metal bracket.
5. Add the desired uteri (boggy or hard) to the desired position.
6. Pull the top portion of the Fundus skin panty up and over the abdominal cavity. Secure it
to the bottom skin.
Medication Administration
The administration of medication using various routes of administration can be simulated through
the software, or by the physical administration of simulated medication.
Administration via Software
Certain medication administration can be simulated using the instructor software. For more
information on administering medication in the software only, see the
Maestro for Juno User Guide
.
Intravenous, Intramuscular/Subcutaneous, and
Intraosseous Medication
Learners can administer medications via IM/SQ injection, IV cannulation or intraosseous injection. For
more information on these medication administration techniques, see the
Cardiovascular
section of
this user guide.
Administering Suppositories or Enemas
Up to five small, aspirin-sized suppositories can be administered via the simulator’s rectum.
Simulated enemas of distilled water can be administered.
After the skills session, the suppositories must be removed or the enema drained, and the rectum
cleaned. For instructions, see the
Care and Maintenance
section of this guide.
