To stop your engine:
•
Move the shift lever to Park.
•
Press the bottom of the
OFF/ACCESSORY button.
If the shift lever is not in Park, the
engine will stop but the vehicle will
go into accessory mode and the
Driver Information Center will display
SHIFT TO PARK. Once the shift lever
is moved to Park, the vehicle will
turn off.
REMOTE ADAPTIVE START
This feature allows you to start the
engine from outside the vehicle
using the Keyless Access System
transmitter. (Normal transmitter
range is within 196 feet of the
vehicle.) Depending on outside
conditions, the remote start feature
can also start the vehicle’s automatic
climate control system as well as
the heated and vented seats (if
equipped). Consult your Owner
Manual to set this function.
The engine will run for about 10
minutes before turning itself off, but
it can be extended an additional 10
minutes by performing another
remote start sequence before the first
10 minutes expires, or after the
engine has shut off. No additional
remote starts are allowed until the
vehicle has been started with the
ignition key.
Remote Starting the Vehicle
1. Aim the key fob transmitter at the
vehicle.
2. Press and release
on the
transmitter, then immediately
press and hold
on the
transmitter until the vehicle’s
parking lamps flash, or hold the
button for at least four seconds if
the lights are not visible.
3. When the vehicle starts, the
parking lamps will illuminate and
remain on while the engine is
running.
4. Repeat these steps for a 10-minute
time extension.
When you enter your STS after a
remote start, press the start button
to transition to normal vehicle
operation.
To manually turn off a remote start,
do any of the following:
•
Aim the key fob transmitter at the
vehicle and press and hold the
remote start button until the
parking lamps turn off.
•
Press the hazard warning flashers
button located on the console.
•
Press the STAR T/OFF/ACCESSORY
button on and then off.
