CONNECTING TO THE FLUE
Pellet fuelled stoves operate by means of fan-forced fume draught. It is compulsory to make sure the
pipes are fitted in a workmanlike way and in accordance with EN 1856-2 and UNI/TS 11278 standards
about materials choice; in any case pipe fitting must be realized by specialized fitters or companies
according to UNI 10683/5. The connection between the appliance and the flue must be short in order to
aid draught and avoid the condensation in the pipes. See
Picture 9, page 70
The stovepipe must be equal to or greater than the exhaust pipe (Ø 80mm). Some stove models may
have an upper and/or rear outlet (see

Make sure that the one not used is closed

For stovepipes we recommend to use special sheet metal pipes for stoves with a diameter of Ø 80mm or
100mm, according to the type of system, with silicone gaskets or sealed together with high-temperature
silicone (min. 250°C).
Never use flexible metal, cement fibre or aluminium pipes. For direction
changes it is obligatory to use a T connection

) with inspection cover to
facilitate periodic cleaning of the pipes. After cleaning make sure that the inspection covers are
hermetically sealed with an efficient gasket. For direction changes, a maximum of 3 T connections can be
used and the horizontal length of the stovepipe must not exceed 2 meters with minimum slope of 3%
(see

It is forbidden to connect more than one appliance to the same stovepipe, it is forbidden to convey into
the same fumes channel the exhaust coming from overlying extractor hoods, it is forbidden to discharge
combustion products along the wall directly to the outside and towards enclosed spaces even if outdoor.
It is forbidden to connect other appliances of any type (wood stoves, extractor hoods, boilers, etc.). The
stovepipe must be placed at a minimum distance of 400mm from construction elements that are
inflammable or heat sensitive (see
