F-number:
The higher the f-number,
the longer the delay time within
the range of the particular
camera system.

Dark Band Position:
When you see a
dark band at the top of the image,
increase the delay time. When the
dark band appears at the bottom,
decrease the delay time.
Optical Trigger
The optical trigger can act as an
alternate trigger mechanism from
the radio signal. For instance, it
is very useful in capturing pre-flash
signals that are being emitted
earlier than the flash sync. Setting
the pre-flash optical trigger with the
delay timer (see Section 11.4) can be
used to set the exact time for the
flash to start f
iring.
