Global Positioning System Fix Data
The GGA sentence contains the UTC time, Position, and fix related data.

FIELD Description
1 UTC time of position fix in HHMMSS.ss format
2 Latitude in DDMM.mmmmm format (5 decimal places)
3 Direction of Latitude
N = North
S = South
4 Longitude in DDMM.mmmmm format (5 decimal places)
5 Direction of Longitude
E = East
W = West
6 GPS Quality Indicator or Fix Mode:
0 = fix not valid
1 = GPS Autonomous Fix
2 = Differential or S.B.A.S. Corrected Fix
3 = PPS Mode Fix Valid
4 = RTK Mode – FIXED Integers
5 = RTK Mode – Floating Integers
6 = Estimated (dead reckoning) Mode
7 = Manual Input Mode
8 = Simulator Mode
7 Number of GPS Satellites (SVs) used in solution fix
8 Horizontal Dilution of Precision – HDOP
9 C-Nav GPS Receiver antenna altitude reference to Mean Sea Level
(MSL) –
see Field 11 below
10 Altitude units – M indicates meters
11 WGS-84 Geoidal Separation distance from Mean Sea Level (MSL)
