4.7. Compass
Replacement
The Compass relays information to IMS about the Mobile Platform’s orientation in
reference to True North. By determining the direction the Mobile Platform is positioned,
IMS can approximately calculate where in the sky the Antenna will search for the
Satellite.
The Compass must be level when attempting to read the heading, and the elevation at
which it reads the heading is typically set by default by IMS. The compass heading
should typically be +2
