SELF-DIAGNOSIS AND ERROR CODES
The SP 800 can carry out self diagnostics. If it encounters a problem, an alert or error message will be
displayed depending on the type of problem. In the event of an alert, the spa will continue to operate,
however an error will require an intervention by the user or a qualified technician.
To deactivate an error alarm, press the MENU key, otherwise the alarm will be automatically deactivated
after four minutes.
Error 1 (
PRIMING ERROR)
The priming error is a special case. It does not necessarily mean that there is a problem, it indicates
that there is a lack of water in the heater body. Press the DOWN arrow, the main pump will run for
10 seconds to send water into the heater. If this corrects the situation, the spa will revert to normal
operation. Otherwise, the error will be displayed on the screen again.
Caution: While this error message is displayed, the SP 800 can function in demo mode. However the spa
is not intended for use in demo mode.
If the SP 800 is accidently set to demo mode, the spa must be reinitialised to restart it.
Error 2 (Not used)
Messages 3 to 8 will entail shut down of the spa until the reinitialisation sequence is performed.
Error 3 (
KEY STUCK)
If this error code is displayed, one or more keys on the touch pad have been held down for over a minute
or are locked. This error can occur if the cover is leaning on a key or if water has entered the screen or if
the screen itself has sustained damage. Try to reinitialise the spa (see next page). If the problem persists
contact a qualified technician.
Error 4 (WATER SENSOR)
This message indicates that there is a problem with the water sensor in the heater. The sensor may have
become disconnected or may be damaged. Try to reinitialise the spa (see next page). If the problem
persists contact a qualified technician.
Error 5 (OVERHEATING)
This error message is displayed if one of the temperature sensors detects a temperature over 45° C in
the heater or in the spa. This problem is not necessarily caused by the SP 800 itself. It can occur if the
pump is run excessively while the ambient temperature is elevated or by a pump malfunction. Stop the
spa and allow the water to cool. If the problem persists, call a qualified technician.
Error 6 (SAFETY)
This message indicates that the heater's thermal protection mechanism has been tripped. This problem
is not necessarily due to the SP 800 itself. It may be caused by an air bubble around the heating
element, high temperature during transport or a pump malfunction. The thermal protection will not
be reinitialised until the temperature of the heating element falls below 38°C. The SP 800 must be
reinitialised before starting the spa again (see the next page).
