7.1 Adjusting the Height of the Frame above the Ground.
For tractors equipped with a hydraulic lift limiter
with controlled position:
1. On flat ground, lower the tractor’s hydraulic lift
until bar A hooks into place. Bar A must have a
functional play “X” of about 3 mm (0.15 inches)
as shown in Ops-2405.
2. After adjusting the height of the frame, set the
position of the lift control from the driver’s seat
of the tractor. In this case it is not necessary to
use the limiting chain 2 (Ops-2404) supplied
with the machine.
For tractors NOT equipped with a hydraulic lift
limiter with controlled position.
1. Fasten the limiting chain 2 in Ops-2404
supplied with the machine with the hook (16) in
Ops-2401 to one of the free holes in the bracket
of the tractor third point.
2. Lower the machine into the work position until
the bar A (Ops-2405) is in place and the limiting
chain 2 (Ops-2404) is tight. Bar A (Ops-2405)
must have a functional play “X” of about 3 mm
(0.15 inches). The height H from the ground is
correct when there is:
•
Mower bar on the ground.
•
Distance “X” of about 3 mm (0.15 inches).
•
Limiting chain 2 in Ops-2404 so there is no slack.
7. SETTING THE MOWER
Properly setting the cutting height is essential for efficient and safe operation. A properly set mower will make
a more uniform cut, distribute clippings more evenly, require minimal tractor work, and follow the contour of
uneven terrain.
NOTE:
Avoid very low cutting heights, striking the ground with the blades gives the most
damaging shock loads and will cause damage to the mower and drive. Blades contacting the ground may
cause objects to be thrown out from under the mower deck. Always avoid operating the mower at a height
which causes the blades to contact the ground.
OPS-U- 0010
Never work under the Implement, the framework, or any lifted
component unless the Implement is securely supported or blocked up
to prevent sudden or inadvertent falling which could cause serious
injury or even death.
