"Self-Monitoring, Analysis and Reporting Technology (SMART or S.M.A.R.T.) is an industry 
standard for monitoring hard disk drives (HDD) and solid 

state 

drives (SSD) and is used to 

predict a possible failure of the storage medium. It involves evaluating the values of various 
sensors using different parameters." *[1] 
 
Check the status of the hard disk here and start a S.M.A.R.T. check, for example. 

Note: The 

hard disk must support this function.
