Loading a Method
1. Press the L1 button to scroll to the L2 Screen.
2. Press the LOAD METHOD button.
3. Press the NEXT or PREV button to scroll to a selected method.
4. Once a method has been selected, press the SAVE button.
Preparing the RAM
1. Press the RAM MOVE button and raise the bottom RAM to the top of the mold cylinder.
2. Swab both the bottom RAM and top RAM with Release Agent.
3. Place and center the sample on the bottom RAM.
4. Press the RAM MOVE button to lower the RAM and add mounting material.
5. Push down and lock the mold closure. Rotate the mold closure clockwise, about 45 degrees.
Starting a Cycle
1. Press the CYCLE START button. The screen will display PRESSURIZE.
The press will operate in the automatic mode until the curing cycle is complete.
a. Once the SimpliMet 3000 is pressurized, the screen will change to display
PRE-HEATING. During the PRE-HEATING phase, the temperature is increasing to reach
the selected temperature, 120° F to 360° F.
b. Once the selected temperature is reached, the HEAT TIME parameter field will begin to
count down. The temperature will remain at the set temperature for the duration of the
HEAT TIME phase.
c. When HEAT TIME is complete, the cooling cycle will begin. The COOL TIME parameter
will begin to count down the cooling cycle. During the COOL TIME, steam is released at
the back of the machine and the screen will display DEPRESSURIZE.
d. A buzzer will sound to indicate the COOL TIME is finished.
2. When the cycle is complete, rotate the mold closure counter-clockwise 45 degrees to the
stop.
3. Press the RAM MOVE button to raise the RAM with the mount.
4. Rotate the mold closure arm to the side and remove the cured mount.
5. The SimpliMet 3000 is now ready to process a new mount.
