Making a Mold
Note:
Remove any flash of mounting material left on the RAM before making a mold. Brush away any
loose mounting material or other deposits from around the mold area before making a mold.
Setting Parameters
1. Use the Parameter Scroll button to scroll to the HEAT TIME parameter field.
Use the Increase or Decrease buttons to select a HEAT TIME (0
– 20 minutes).
2. Use the Parameter Scroll button to scroll to the COOL TIME parameter field.
Use the Increase or Decrease buttons to select a COOL TIME (0
– 30 minutes).
3. Use the Parameter Scroll button to scroll to the PRESSURE parameter field.
Use the Increase or Decrease buttons to select a PRESSURE (1200
– 1400 psi).
4. Use the Parameter Scroll button to scroll to the TEMPERATURE parameter field.
Use the Increase or Decrease buttons to select a TEMPERATURE (120° F to 360° F).
5. Use the Parameter Scroll button to scroll to the PRELOAD parameter field.
Use the Increase or Decrease buttons to select a PRELOAD (0
– 400 psi).
6. Using the Parameter Scroll button, scroll to the MOLD SIZE parameter field. The mold sensor
will automatically display the MOLD SIZE.
Saving a Method
Once all the parameter values have been determined, they can be saved as a user-defined
method for use again at a later date.
1. When all the parameter values have been entered, scroll to the L2 screen.
2. Press the SAVE METHOD button (see Figure 16).
3. Press the NEXT button to select a method number, i.e. METHOD 3.
4. Once a method number has been selected, press the SAVE button. The saved method (i.e.
METHOD 3) parameter values will be displayed in the parameter fields.
Note:
Use a Method Log to keep track of the Method Numbers and their parameter values.
