4.
Remove the safety screw on the adjustment screw
for the igniter (

Fig. 41).Turn the inner adjustment
screw clockwise to reduce the size of the ignition
flame, and counterclockwise to increase it.
5.
After completed adjustment replace the safety screw
(
Î
Fig. 41).
6.
If the flame is too small, the pilot orifice needs
cleaning (
Î
Fig. 50, page 51). If the igniter flame is
acceptable, start cleaning.

Inspect the pilot flame through the sight glass
(
Î
Fig. 43).
8.
The flame must cover the thermocouple by 3/8"
to ½".
9.
If the flame is too small or too large, use the
adjustment screw to correct for it.
