STEP 2:
PRE-CONFIGURING AV OVER IP SOURCES
After you’ve restarted and logged back in, return to the Director Page, it is time to configure the
input channels. If you have connected AV over IP sources on the LAN, they will need to be discovered
before they can be assigned to a channel. Note: All AV over IP sources must be on the same LAN as the
R3Ci recorder and within the same network segment, with the same Subnet mask.
Follow these steps:

3
Return to the
Device
page, and Navigate to
IPC Settings
. Check
Enable
and the appliance
will search the LAN for potential sources, and they will populate in the table.
When all cameras appear, they will not be available until they are authorized. Enter the
user name
and
password
for each source, then press the
Auth button
.
When all the sources have been authorized, all the preconfiguration of AV over IP sources is finished,
and you may return to the
Director Page
to assign these sources to a channel.
Note:
Discovering sources on the LAN requires them to conform to ONVIF protocol. Sources can include any
ONVIF enabled device like cameras and encoders. If the device you plan to connect by LAN is not ONVIF
enabled, it can still be added manually. Please refer to page 20 for instructions on how to include both
ONVIF compliant and noncompliant devices.
