Switchboard external line access code

You may need to enter an access code (e.g. 

9

) in order to

get an outside line. So that the switchboard has time to pick
up an outside line, you may also need to add a Pause after
the access code.

Setting pauses

To insert a pause in a stored number

With some switchboards, after dialling the access
code you may have to wait for a moment while the
switchboard picks up an outside line

If so, press the 

REDIAL/PAUSE

button to insert 

a pause before entering the telephone number.

If you need to insert a pause into a telephone
number you are storing in the memory, start
storing the number, 

(see page 21)

and where the

pause is needed, press the 

REDIAL/PAUSE

button.

RECALL

button is of use when connected to

some switchboards, ie. to transfer calls or for
some BT Select Services or those services
available via your network provider. It is only
available when a call is in progress.
