Carriage PCB ASSY (carriage PCB with head flat cables)

(8) Unlock the connector on the carriage PCB and disconnect the carriage-head flat cable.

Note:

After disconnecting the flat cable, check that it is not damaged at its end or short-

circuited. When connecting the flat cable, do not insert it at an angle. After insertion, check
again that it is not at an angle.

(9) Release the head flat cables from the cable guides provided on the upper cover and take

them out together with the flat core.

Note:

When replacing the carriage PCB ASSY, remove the flat core from the old head flat

cables and set it to the new ones.

(10) Release the head flat cables from the cable guide provided on the head/carriage unit and

release the film from the boss.

(11) Lift up the carriage PCB ASSY.

Assembling Note:

When mounting the carriage PCB ASSY, route the head flat cables,

observing instructions given on the next page.
